Deutsch:

I am a passionate programmer. I have been writing code for 40 years, and I still love it just as much as on day one. I turned my hobby into my profession and enjoy my work almost every day: It is simply a great feeling to create something out of nothing — in my case, software.
One of my particular areas of interest is automated quality assurance. By this, I do not just mean automated testing in its various forms (functional tests, performance tests, visual tests, architecture tests), but also static code analysis, automated builds and deployments, as well as monitoring.
Furthermore, I am a huge fan and advocate of agile software development. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to gain experience with XP (eXtreme Programming), Scrum, and Kanban. All of these are very good starting points for agile teams. Why starting points and not processes? Because, for me, one of the most important aspects of agile software development is that every team continuously improves its processes and adapts them to current environments and conditions.
I am also a UX enthusiast with very high quality standards for software. Alongside error-free operation and good performance, robustness (i.e., handling errors gracefully when they do occur) and a first-class user experience are quality criteria I always strive for.
I enjoy sharing the knowledge I have acquired over the years: as a Principal Engineer at AUTOVIO, as a coach for automated QA and agile software development, as the author of various technical articles and a specialized book (JUnit Profiwissen), and as a speaker at various tech conferences. Last but not least, I teach computer science as a career changer at the Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasium Teltow.
